Just thought that I would ask a general question. I use a lot of tubes to fish smallies on the river, and was wondering what colors a lot of people like? I use a lot of watermelon colored ones with different flecks in them. I know some people that use black with red fleck a lot also. Besides that, I like brown with chartruse tail. Just wondering anyone else’s opinion?

I like black with blue tail, yellow (squash) with green flakes in it, black with red flake, and brown with chart. tail.

I use alot of tubes through out the summer but I really like the whites and sunfish colored. I have found out that the best tubes are the storm ones. They last forever and don’t tear out as easy. just my 2 cents

    Dodge Boy,
With the storm tubes, do you just use the jighead that comes with them? I have some and still have to use them.

I like to use the white and white/clear sparkle tubes the best. I have also used other colors that work well like watermellon, blues, purples and brown/orange. I almost never fish them with a jig, I find that the HP hooks and light tube weights provide a better action and I get many, many more strikes.

Good luck and have fun with ’em.

i would have to say blk neon is my fav, when im not throwing that, i like light brown, brown with chart tail, black with chart tail, and smoke. although at certain times other colors have been very effective. and something i think the fish could care less, throw whatever you have confindence in!

One thing I pay attention to is when did the fish hit,on the fall or when I popped it off the bottom. After a fish or two I will change color to the hit meaning if the fish hit on the fall I will stick more to the bait fish colors and if the hit while it is being popped off the bottom then craw colors are the choice.
