Fished pool 10, prairie du chien area saturday. caught 5 LMB, 1 SMB, and 1 stripeer. Only one of the bass was a keeper: 16.5. All release in good shape.
Caught them on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and plastics. Fish were caught near wood and rock.

Was wondering how the water is on Pool 10. Such as temp and is water high. How is the main river current, fast, super fast. And if in the backwater is the slop, weeds and arrowheads starting to come up? Thanks

I don’t know the water temp., but the river on sat. was right around 13 ft. which is above normal. The river is dropping fast and should be done to normal levels with in the next 2 weeks. I am fishing pool 10 again this weekend, so I will report when i get back.
No slop yet and some weeds starting to pop up.

Thanks, Glen for the info. Have you fished any of the wing dams. Probably hard with water being so high. I’ll be down there in 2 weeks. Hopefully water levels will be close to normal. What baits have you been using down there. Such as jigs..plastics.. Any cranks????

Fished pool 10 on Monday the 27th. Had one of the best fishing days ever. Caught largemouths, smallmouth and even a walleye with crank baits by bumping rocks. At one point hit 8 fish in about 5 minutes. Weather was super too, if the river stabalizes things will only get better.

basspack-were you fishing main channel points or some of the lakes. Were some of the rocks on wing dams? Any weed growth yet? Are you fishing the BFL tourney coming up. Are you sick of all my questions. I myself am going down on Saturday morning for pre-fishing. Hope weather holds out for awhile. Thanks for the post………

I am fishing the BFL as a co-angler. Some of the rocks were at barge tie-ups and others were riprap areas, current seemed to be the key. The weeds are growing pretty well and will be emergent because the river continues to drop. I think the fishing will be great as the water warms up and the river stops dropping. Tommorrow if it’s nice I’ll be fishing near the Marina with the 8th grade class (I am a teacher), it is a mini-course day. I’ll be out Saturday morning too, I want to hit some of the lakes and try worms and spinnerbaits in transition areas and toss some tubes.
