I have been on another message board discussing this subject with another person. This all started with the new rules that B.A.S.S. has put in place to deal with the angler/co-angler relationship. I am not really hung up about the new rules, but I read an article on Fish Factory where the author slights the co-angler. Only slightly, but that is the way I read it. Well my take on the situation is that co-anglers were necessary to eliminate the cheating aspect. Putting 2 strangers in the boat would keep each other in check. I just wanted to post on this site for some feedback. Am I way off base or is this the real origin of the co-angler?

The orgin of the co- angler probly came from the godfather of bass fishing [ Ray Scott]I’am sure they had the fore-sight on how to attract the next genreration of tournament anglers.
