The 2002 KFAN/St. Jude Team Bass Championship was a spectacular event. Not only did the 64 teams and runner raise over $32,000 for St. Judes Childrens Hospital the fishing was outstanding. George Little and Paul Neumann won with 16 fish for 48.25 pounds, a 3 pound average. There were five other teams with 16 fish limits over 40 pounds. It took 32 pounds to get a check. The bulk of the fish were smallmouth but the number of largemouth was higher than last year. The day 1 big bass was a 6.05 smallmouth caught by Eric and Paul Kielb, day 2 was a 5.34 largemouth from the team of Arron Laroque and Joe Hall. Plans are underway for next year’s event so mark the first weekend in May of 2003. You won’t want to miss this event.
