Went looking for walleyes this morning, on the water 7 am. The river level was up about a foot. The normal places that a walleye of two might be found were quiet, and had a fair amount of current. Sought out some calmer water with rip-rap and started working the area with an 1/8 oz jig and 5″ white k-grub. Second cast a nice 16 in smallmouth. The next hour and a half was smallmouth bass, on rip-rap, in 4-6 foot of water. The largest smallmouth was 20″ the others were between 16-18 inch. 18 + smallmouth for the morning, off the water at 1130 am. An overcast, calm morning, with some good action.
