    Hey, Guys,

Ok, the big spinnerbait down here (sorry, champman, I’ve not told a soul down here about the swimming jig -man, these guys don’t fish grass! Fine with me), is a War Eagle Sreaming Eagle. What’s so big about it (you guys probably know this, but humor me), the 1/2oz is a 1/4 ounce size!

Burning them past floating docks or slow rolling them perpendicular to blow downs (“lumber” for Ecklor), seem to have really increased the numbers of quality fish.

Well, that’s about all I got from down here in the little ol’ South.

    See y’all later, hey

the 1/2 oz the size of a 1/4 oz is simple smaller blades smaller profile more appealing to finkiy fish can match the hatch easier as well

a heavier spinner bait with smaller blades can be fished faster with out the bait riding up as well as it helps get a better reaction bite

next time you see a pro throwing a 1 oz spinner bait on the bottom of a lake look at the blade size a majority of them thrw it with smaller willow leaf blades so it can be fished fast still maintaining contact with the bottom

In my limited experience i have found that the compact spinnerbaits work well on the river as well- they mimic the small forage better and also are not pulled as much by current as a bulky bait with a long arm and big blades. War eagle screaming eagles are a good one, there are several others that have a more compact profile.

A screamin’ eagle caught me some nice smallies on sturgeon bay this year at the gander mountain tournament, they’re definately worth a shot, especially in clearer water
