    Hey, guys,

Ok, here’s what I’m dealing with.

Huricanes. Water rises two feet. Water’s pulled. The run off lake then goes up ten feet… Yep, ten feet. Two days later that run off lake is down five. Next day another five feet.

Smith Mountain lake will rise and fall maybe a foot or two with this rain (we’re in the middle of mud slides and floods right now). I can handle that. Man, but ten feet! Guys are used to that here.

Well, I’ll fish this weekend again, dodge floating debris and hit the brush piles. Man, do I miss weeds. You find weeds here… you win.

    Talk to you guys soon,

Yesterday we got the rest of hurican Jeanne.

The rivers rose to 22ft (that’s about 10 more than full pool), causing roads to close and mudslides to begin.

On Smith Mountain lake (40,000 acres) all the boats in the boat houses are pushed up and smashed into the boat houses’ roofs!

    Talk to you guys later,

Man, i thought the corps was bad on the river and lakes were more “stable” in general. sounds like fun- remember, you will be fishing all winter long while we look at hard water, so dont expect to much sympathy! I fished smith mtn lake about 10 years ago and did well on docks, but that was the middle of summer and water was clear and stable. Good luck, im sure as a former “river rat” your ability to adjust will help you with the changing conditions.

Yeah, we’ll fish year round. My last tournament is in Nov. on Gaston then the next day on Kerr. After that, time to learn the jigin’ spoon in December; then make nice with the wife in January & Feb, then begin fishin’ tournaments is in March!

    Talk to ya later,
