Well, I’m so disgusted with myself it’s not even funny. I just missed the cut by about a pound and it’s completely my fault. I had 2 fish throw my lure on jumps and lost a dandy around a lilly pad. And do i want to mention the numerous times the Bass would strike and send my lure 3 feet in the air I think the “DNORT JYNX” was still with me

Oh well, I’m glad I got to fish, and i had plenty of opportunity to limit out. I finished 27th out of 113 other co-anglers..Not bad, but this one is going to burn with me for quite some time

is a blazer and it is a push pole lol.

YES SLOP IM STILL KICKING MYSELF FOR NOT BRINGING MY BOAT.
i know if my fish were still were i had them id a made the cut for sure and since the guy i drawed was fishing the same way i can only presume my fish would have bit too.
BTW i fished with jeff ritter and all i can say about him is he is a one great fisherman and fun to fish with too.
hope his big fish bit today for him.
i only had one fish but i should have had like 13 fish lost a lot bring them to the boat and soo many short strikers and like slop said a had a few bits that the bass played ping pong with it bounceing it from pad to pad 3 feet in the air.

Come on Slop! The “DNORT JINX” should be that DNORT’S pre-fish partner sticks a 5 pounder pre-fishing before the tourney! It was only Wednesday so I though that we could stick a few fish. But a 5 ell b’er? . Just joking…Great fish slop!

BASSHOG, Blazer…YES. Push pole…YES. Where we were…I think you know. Remember your 5 pounder last year at the WSF zone tourney . That spot produced again (wrong timing though)

matt_kenseth_17, I know all about catching only 1 keeper fishing behind Jeff .

Dan, my push pole came from a friend that has had these for years. It is a retractable 15′ that I haven’t seen for sale anywhere. However, I was with Bassinal when he bought a pretty nice 3-piece pole at Bob’s bait (LAX) last month. He can give you details. Other than that one, I know that Bass Pro sells a green one, but I haven’t heard very good reports about it.

    Sloppy,

It was nice meeting you, too bad about loosing the fish that would of done it for ya. Yes I did loose my lower unit about 2 miles below the dam on pool 9. I didnt have any spots close so we just put the motor down and went. It didnt matter to me cause i wasnt in the running for points but my co-angler was in 10th place. Finally he got a keeper and we waived down the next boat for a ride back. This is how I met d-nort. Dont listen to what sloppy says, d-nort is a great guy.

    THANKS D-NORT

I really appreciate the ride back and I know my co-angler will when he’s at the regional this fall.

Im Glad all of these bfl tourneys are done with its been a long rough year!

    Dan:

I got a nice retractable push pole at Gander last year. Had to buy the pole and the duckbill separately I think.

    Joe:

Sorry to hear about your motor.

    M. Kenseth: Nice meeting you too.

    Slop: Nice fish!

Fishing was tough, but 16 and 17 pound sacks are nothing to sneeze at. I caught two keepers and ended up right behind Slopbass at 32nd. My brother-in-law made the cut with 3 bass at 7lbs 5oz and fished with Jeff Ritter on day two. He then only caught one more keeper, but moved up to 15th. I did catch a lot of short fish and a few huge strippers . Had a fun time and saw a few of the regulars from the site as well.

Hey, I think Blue is on to something. Fish-n-Football! What more could a guy ask for? That weekend works for me too.

All right guys, so I over-animate a little while I’m intoxicated and telling funny past stories. For the most part, I had a great time this week. I say that because Saturday was a flop. I had 2 spots on 9 that were LOADED with quality fish (I needed more spots). When it came time to go get them, everything that could have gone wrong did. Drawing boat 105 out of 113 didn’t help. Although I was locking down so it wasn’t that big of a deal. But when we got to the locks, there was a barge in it. The tournament started at 6:30 and we got to my 1st spot at 8:20. That was quickly followed by a u-turn due to another bass boat sitting on what I titled, “the Motherload” on my gps. I guess that there was a club tourney out of 9 that went out early. My next spot produced a 3 pounder right away. I proceded to lose 5 consecutive fish. And to top it off, I was paired with one of those partners that kept telling me to, “calm down, don’t lose control”! You know the guy that tells you all day what your doing wrong on the golf course when you can’t hit the ball right? Yeah, one of those. I wanted to throw ALL my gear into the drink (including my co-angler), sell my boat and buy an OCC Custom Chopper! By now, I have pretty much wrote off any hope for success (bad habit of mine). So we’re heading back up to 8 when I see JHall and company waving me down. I figured that since I SUCK at fishing today, I can at least spend my time doing something helpful. Long day, lost all hope. But that all changed when Bassinal and I were sitting at a sports bar 4 hours later sucking down cold ones! .

Nice meeting all you guys! You all rock!

JHall, after you completely ripped your lower unit off at 70 mph and did 3 end-over-end flips in the air, how are you felling? Did anyone buy it?
