Don’t take this the wrong way. I’m not looking for any spots. All I would like to know is what the fish are hitting on. I have not fished in this area before. I’m new to fishing the river period. If I could get any help I would greatly appreciate it.

I assume you are talking about LaCrosse area jk..

The wingdam bite is pretty good right now…Throwing plastics and/or Cranks seems to be catching some fish.

Some fish are still holding on wood, pitching jigs n such to fallen timber etc…..

You might even still get some fish out of the slop too.

Where in LAX are you planning on going? River? Lake?

If I were you… I mightgo south of Goose… head to Pool 9… bigger, more plentiful fishery…

A couple weeks ago, I might have said the same thing, but now anything is possible. Jeremy and I spent close to 3 days on pool 9, and left it scratching our heads as to why the bite is so poor. From what I understand, it’s below par all over.(unless you are Champman) I would pick an area and stick with it. It always easy to say the grass is greener on the other side of the dam, but you’re always the one that has to mow it and weed it.

    Good one, Blue…

Now, I want to make a comment, but I don’t want this to come off wrong, so please try and read this as intended… It’s nice to see some real solid anglers struggle and scratch their heads once in a while… kind of makes you “real” and makes us novice guys feel “better” about the days we cannot pick up a bite.

Now, quit scratching your heads and go win a tourney!

I’ve been seeing a lot of the “well known” hooks in the area struggle for most of the year. I feel real good knowing Jeremy and I have held our own against some formidable competion. Anyone can beat a “Pro” on any given day. It’s not so much the fish catching part, but a mental costitution that won’t let you lose.

Thanks to everyone for the help. Maybe I will be able to out fish my father-in-law this weekend.
