Well, since I won’t make it out to the river this coming weekend , I managed to get out today. We caught plenty of fish , but the quality was not . We caught mostly 1 to 1 1/2lb fish most of the day with a handfull around 2 1/2 to 2 3/4. Caught most of the fish on current, with either rock, sand, or combination of both. Lure of choice, well there wasn’t one. Cranks, spinners, tubes, plastics, etc., all lures worked if you put it in front of them. When the trolling batteries started to die after a couple hours , had to go to the backwaters. I guess I shouldn’t have tried to get 4 seasons out of my batteries , better to find out now then in a tourny. When we arrived in the backwaters, we were pleasantly surprised with very active fish. I did end up putting a solid 4#er in the boat, then as we tried to put the rest of the puzzle together, the batteries totally gave up around noon. So, it was a depressingly pleasant day. Our best 6 fish would have went around 16 1/2 to 17 lbs. Good luck in all your fishing adventures this coming weekend everyone, and catch one for me. OK, maybe two.
