Goose Island – June 19

    The bite for me was real slow today. I fished about 4 hours and caught two largemouth and a smallie. All decent sized fish, but nothing to get greatly excited about. Caught one on a blue and yellow Northland spinner and the other two on a shallow running fat crank (LM pattern). All of them came in water out of the current. The water is starting to come down and the north boat ramp is open again after being closed off for a few days this week. Still a lot of dirty water.

    Just to add to your Goose Island report, my family had our 3rd annual family reunion fishing contest Saturday – launching from Goose. My brother took 1st and I 2nd out of 14 total anglers. Largest was my 2.8 LM. Several 2+ LM and SM caught although it seemed tough going overall.
