For all of ya out there that use braid-

After spending several weeks in the sun, it looses that nice green color and lightens up quite a bit. Depending on what color water you are fishing it may or may not show up better in the water. Dont know if its just me , but when I see that line in the water I think ” I shure as hell wouldnt touch that jig.” Do you guys mark a few feet with a marker so the line dosent reflect light or just go about business as usuall?

    Thanks

You mentioned Green color? What brand specifically?
But to answer your question…I go about business as normal. If I do anything, I’ll spool off 30-40yds of line, cut it, and get keep fishing.

i second the business as usual. i havent noticed any difference between “new green power pro” or “old grey power pro” but most of the fishing that i do is on the ole miss or on lakes that dont have the best clarity. but even when i get on a lake that does have a couple feet of clarity im still confident ill be ok

You may want to try and stripe the line, instead of a solid line with the marker. Ex. 2-3″ marked than 2-3″ not marked, so on and so forth. Makes it kind of “camo” like, and dissappears a little better in the water.

I’ve been marking mine with a brown, black or dark green marker. At least the first 6-8 feet.

I fished a lake last night, with about 5′ of clarity, and
I boated maybe 15 fish with my Senko rod, which is spooled
with 15 lb Power Pro, that is about as faded white as that
line will get. So I didn’t see much of a problem with
the line faded, in that situation. If my bites are not
what I expect them to be, and I suspect the line is a
problem, I run the first few feet of line over the tip
of a black Sharpie. I don’t know if that helps, but I feel
better For the heavier braid on my slop rod, I have
never felt the need to color the faded line. And for jigs,
    I fish fluorocarbon.

Yeah, it’s also been suggested that if in doubt, I can simply camo the line with a marker; being that I’m hard headed, I’ve not done that, and I’m still catching fish with the power pro.

    Thanks,
