Does anybody fish potter’s marsh outside of thompson, IL for bass. I have been out there 4 times this year and have not caught any keeper bass. Has anyone else had any luck out there. I have tried everything in my tackle box. 
If there is any specific thing that you use i would appreciate the tip.

I think the key to your post is “keeper” fish. This is a great area to practice different techniques and baits on 13 7/8in fish. Like you, lots of shorts but not many keepers. Cracks me up when guys go there for practice and fill the boat with 3 pounders but can only catch shorts on tourn. day. Years ago, before the dredging, this was the big-fish spot on that pool. I’m really not sure what’s happening, I think the big ones are still there but not easily caught because of the excessive cover.
I often think that very few people run tournament fish back to Potter’s since it’s so far from tournament launch sites. Depleted of keepers from time to time? I’d probably crap if I knew how many were in there, but it does seem tougher lately to catch keepers there.
