Riverfan,
Thanks for the report. When I was walleye fishing last week, I talked to a couple of bass pros that were prefishing. I see they did pretty good. Bill Lowen is in 12th place and Pat Fisher is in 17th after the first two days. Both guys were real friendly to my buddy and I, and Pat show us some of the set ups he was using. Both did tease us about the walleyes when we asked if they had been catching any. “Walleye, they have teeth right?” is what they’d asked us. I’ve talked to other bass guys prefishing other tournaments in previous years and they’re usually good for some information on the walleyes.
I’d like to learn more about bass fishing. I’m planning to head to the backwaters of Pool 2 around Grey Cloud Island this weekend to try to catch some. What would you suggest I try? Should I use spinner baits, tubes, maybe chug bugs…? Also what type of cover would be best during this high water? I know these are broad questions but anything to get me started would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Boone
