Pool 8 – CLOSED… Anyone know about Pool 7?

I heard on the local ABC news (WXOW) says “The River” is closed to boating except for “No Wake”. Now, I have come to discover that it actually means that Pool 8 is NO WAKE from the Dam in LaCrescent to Brownsville, MN (a lot of river).

So, I assume the Pool 8 tourney’s will be cancelled this weekend?

My question, however, is this: What about Pool 7? If Pool 8 is “NO WAKE”, does that influence Pool 7? I heard it might be any boundary waters to
LaCrosse County? Any truth to this? If so, does the Lake count?

Please help! Our League has a Tourney schedueld for Saturday on Pool 7, and we want to fish it!

    Blue, do you know?

Actually , (I imagine the tourney will be closed if indeed it is no wake…. normally it isn’t closed till 10FT which is what the news report I saw actually said), I would finally have an even chance with my small boat and motor. Now all I have to do is find out where to heck my fish went????

I see the forcast is for 9.8 feet today so today or tommorrow it will hit that magic 10 feet.

Oh well I’m headed out right now to pool 9. No hurry though…. full moon/clear sky….good midday bite. Because of the incredible white bass and sturgeon bite guide cutomers are still coming for next 9 days even though Bass and Walleye are a little off.

There are no ‘no wake’ zones on pool 7. I called the local law enforcement last year and they assured me of that. Trempealeau Cty has no ‘no wake’ laws either.

I would however like to ask everyone to use common sense when powering up and setting down. These are the times when bass boats throw the most wake. Erosion is a problem, and we have to try to make an effort to not help the process along.

I was also under the impression it had to be over 10 feet on the LAX stage guage to be no wake. What gives? Anyone know?

Yes, the river has to exceed 10ft for the no wake law to be enforced.

I’ve got a .50 cal rifle that says otherwise.

I just got off the phone w/the Sheriff’s office (since it’s actually their ordinance).

The lady there read from her memo that the No-wake will go in effect when the water level reaches 10ft. So seeing as it is projected to reach that sometime later today or so, I would imagine it will be in effect.

What does that mean?? GIVE HER H#LL if you’re out today cause you won’t be able to later this afternoon or by morning.
