    yes–

We had a tourney last year and there was a decent amount of 3+ largies that came in.

    Fun lake, minus joy riders

If you think the biggest bass in Pepin is only 3lbs, you obviously haven’t fished the head of the lake or the back channel hit me up with a PM.

Is this a serious question? Stay off the community spots and find the structure that everyone else skips. There are pigs P/4

Come on Randy, you live 4 1/2 hours away from Pepin and now you’re an authority on P4? Really when is the last time you’ve bass fished there.

He was asking about the lake and not the back channel…..
I’ve never heard of a 5 fish 18lb bag coming out of the lake.

The foot of the lake has a great smallie population. Further down the river from Wabasha other areas are good for numbers as well as size.

I have seen several pushing 4 – but I am not an authority or know anything about bass fishing. I just stumbled on them occasioanally throwing baits for walleyes

I think crawdaddy is doing more trolling than fishing

Ok, I’ll admit I knew the comment might stir the pot a little. But it was somewhat serious too. Between the St. Jude’s, past BASS weekend series events (now extinct here), BFLs, or any tournament, it just seems like no one has ever won a big event out of Pepin or the stretch of river north of there. I know there are big specimens in Pepin, but day in day out the river is the place to be it seems for the big bags. I might be wrong about this, and to be truthfull I’d be happy if I was.

October-2012 I never claimed to be an authority; I do consistently catch nice bass in the lower end of the pool.
