Is Pepin open yet?

Can’t wait to get there! Might have to fish from shore if my boat doesn’t get done soon.

You’ll have to cast to the shipping channel and reel the fish back over the ice because, in most areas, there’s still some shoreline ice extending out quite a ways into the lake.

I’ll be heading to the river in the AM and I’ll be sure to include an update on the ice conditions on the lake. Look for that tomorrow night.

no the lake isn’t quite open yet, your only real chance of fishing the lake would be to follow a barge after it has gone through and fish in its path, but watch out for the other ones following it

I know you’re gonna say i’m makin ya a liar again James LOL……but when I drove past pepin on friday, you could have launched a boat at hok-si-la or Roschen. There was a couple hundred yards of open water along most of the MN side. I’m assuming the wind pushed it back to the MN side since then. If you would happen to launch, you better make sure the wind doesn’t shift and block you against the shore and the ice.

It must be blowing it around because last Friday night/Saturday AM the ice was tight to the shore at Hok Si La… not sure about the launch at Roschen as I head to Rochester before I make it that far south, but there was a BIG chunk of ice about 1/3 of the way out onto the center of the lake.

And yes, you are quickly becoming a pain in my keister. I’ll be at the resort early tomorrow with a size 13 tube sock and a can of corn… forget this soap stuff. You need a beatin’!

Is it just me or is everybody getting a little cabin fever lately. We’re all getting a little ancy to get fishing I think……

And to think yesterday Steve was talkin about getting along, love, and etc. and now he won’t even let you in James. What are we going to do with that guy? Think maybe he is just sleep walkin and sleep talkin too??!!! Must be his nap time!

PS. I think I’d cream him with the whole kernel !!!
