on the southern end of the pool about 5 miles up there are some islands. 2 of them have nice extending points on the front and weashed out sides. I pulled some good smallies off them last fall.
Go up to Winona and hit the rock piles under the bridge and finally go up into the area where the barges tie up. There is some really deep water and a nice shallow bay to the north side. There were some good green ones there as well. Hope this helps. I only spent 1/2 day up there but managed to find some fish.

i got ahold of a book of maps and it says that there is two stump fields down there. iu was wondering what that ment. if they liked clear cut a bunch of crap or what and i was just wondering if it was a good spot. one is right down next to the dam and there is another one a little ways up stream. if ne one knows i figure it would be a good spot for large mouth but if ne one has fished it at all lemme know. it dosent say what depth of water it is in either. i would think it would be rather shallow but who knows.
