I know this is a ford vs. chevy type of fight but, who do you think has the best 3-4″ tubes and why?

Looking for longevity, good skirt, plus other atributes.

ps. Are there tubes out ther where at least half the body/head is solid? Thanks

    Let the battle begin!

Hmmm… are we pressured to say Team Supreme?

I have 2 favorites… The Bulk Bins at Gander Mountain… Or, as far as packaged tubes, the Mizmo 4″ Tubes… Loaded with Salt and shorter body with longer skirt provides a unique action… subtlely differen than the rest.

Now, if you want to be “different” and still present a lure similar to the tube, I like the FAT IKA by Yamamoto or the Long IKA… But, ouch on the $$$.

    My 2 cents!

We arn’t pressured to say Teamsupreme unless we believe in them. That being said… Look in my boat some time. The problem with gander tubes is that in the Ganders around here the tubes don’t seem fresh. In LAX I am sure you sell enough to keep em soft and salty. CR needs some help. Mizmo tubes are good. Quite honestly I am unsure of the differences. I will have to compare the 2 and get back with the info. Color, selection, and price.

I have been using Strike King tubes for several years now, especially the 4.5″ flippin’ tubes. I like the solid head, as I think it really does make the hook stay put better when Texas rigging. With that said, does anyone know of any other manufacturers that offer this feature?

I agree with the solid head design. I know berkeley power pro tubes have a solid head and are a smaller (3.4-4″?), thinner profile than the strike king flipping tube. These are hard to find now though- not sure if they still make them.

In my tube box I have four or five different manufacturers, plus some generics , 2.5,3,3.5,4 inch. at least 7 different colors. I would encourage you all to do the same…although I am a big Mizmo fan and like Strike King and the generics at Bob’s Bait I am amazed that when I am in an area that I know holds bass, the major change running through them until I hit on the right one, has made in the number of quality keepers I catch. I thought it would be a confidence thing, but almost without failing all of the tubes I use are worked in near identical fashion,(Presentation).

ReelGuy by reading your post you seem to have never been pressured to say anything you wanted to say in the past. With that being said, Team supreme does have very fine flipping tubes, they are hand dipped, loaded with salt, and garlic sented.I also like the yum ring tube I started using at the end of last year and liked the rings it did a good job for me a couple of times buy have to try some more.

i like the strike king tubes but i feel there color’s are to dark especially the water melon but i do catch fish on them
a majority of the time im fishing a gene larew mega ring tube it has a solid head and a ringed body wich allows you to hide the point of the hook a little better between the rings plus the rings give off more vibration

When i was just spreading my wings I used to throw the ringit by strike klings and then the g-4 tube and then the allmighty Denny Bauer 4 1/2 flipping tube came out…….I won a little bit of money on that tube..I was so anal about it I went everywhere within a 100miles and bought everyone i could find!

Then the Team Supreme tuber came out and i’ve thrown that religiously because there is no need to throw another one and that the honest truth!

I am not brand loyal. If the tube has the right
color, shape, and texture, I buy it. Some of those
that fit this criteria are Bass Pro Shops Flippin
Tube, Southern Pro(Gander Mtn Bulk is one source),
Strike King, ISG, and what ever brand JC slips me when
I fish with him As for solid heads, I don’t
get too hung up on that having to be in a tube. A piece
of worm body stuffed into the head makes any tube a
solid head tube. I do pay the price for Big Ikas, since
they have proven to me to be something just a little
different, and there have been moments when they catch
more fish than the other offerings I tried. I will say
that I fish tubes often, weighted to fall horizontal,
to emulate bait fish, so my choices in tubes run a little
different than the average tube fisher.

I like the Yum and Chompers because they make my storage lockers stink if I dont seal up the bag. Nothing beats the wiff of garlic first thing in the morning to wake me up.

they all work if you throw them in front of a hungry bass, personally, bulk power tubes bought in spirit lake are what I use

I personally like the OutKast tackle tubes. They are really soft, salty, and seem to work behind other fisherman real well! You might go through more of these tubes than others, but the price you can’t beat with the results. All the tubes are designed by tournament anglers and the colors available are unique. Visit OutKastTackle.com and check these out. Some Gander Mountain locations carry them but check the webpage for the full selection.

You just had to go and tell people about the horizonal falling tube presentation didn’t ya…
For all reading. This doesn’t work. Trust me. All the 3 and 4 lb bass caught on them are just a fluke.

Just for the inside scoop for those who really what to know!! There are 7 different manufactures. Dipped mind you!! they supply a staggering 37 different labels!!!!!!!!! So if you think one is better than the other you just might be throwing the same thing with a different label. Things change when you look toward injected products 5 manufactures supplying 15 labels. In most situations the label is required to purchase a minimum run of a color(s)They will normally have to spend more for subtle changes like, salt density, plastic texture (soft, hard) and color variations. Labels really pay through the nose for thickness and length of the product!! (hum, funny, lifes like that!) I hope this helps fuel more conversation.

Berkley Power-Bait is great when the water is cold, the scent isn’t too over-powering (I believe cold water dulls natural smells in the water, like the fridge keeps your food from rotting, if the bait doesn’t smell “normal” for the time of year = negative reaction). But once the water gets above 65, it’s Chompers all the way, strongest garlic on the market!! Nice and soft too, they clamp down and hold on.
When I finesse toothies early in the year I use the Pro-Cure Threadfin Shad Butter, I scoop it with the back side of a Bic Pen and stuff it up into the cavity, the combo leaves a great “grease trail” in the water.

As many of you already know I really like the RCTackle tubes. The biggest reason being that gordon will make you any color you want. Since my personal favortie colors aren’t made by team supreme, gander or any other manufactures I buy rctackle ones.
