Met up w/B.C. yesterday down at 7th St. Landing to hit some of our fav. Pool 8 spots, along w/doing some scouting. Weather was good, wind was a bit strong, but overall great day to be out. Started Running some Cranks Off a semi-wing dam and I caught another Spawn Happy Male White Bass (I didn’t let him drip into the boat this time ) Not much else going there so we hit one of my favorite sloughs. We were throwing spinners in VERY SHALLOW water. It was so shallow in some places even my trolling motor had to pulled because we were stuck. The water was quite stained. There were LMB in these shallows, but they were striking very short. As usual, neither of us were using stinger hooks (tied on for tonight though ). Did have a couple that struck/jumped/and threw, and from what we could see, these were Bigger FEMALE BASS. . This tells me that they could be making their move, now that the waters temps are rising.

Next spot was the gravel pit area. Not much going on there…BUT, as we were traveling out (which direction? ), out of the corner of my eye I saw some baitfish jumping and bass chasing them/jumping all over.

The water here was very warm and very weedy. I had a tough time getting back into this cove, but the Bass movement was ALL over. Lure of choice–>TOPWATER:) This bay was full of baitfish. It didn’t matter where you looked, they were being chased. The bass were definitly feeding, too bad we didn’t get there an hour earlier. I have to refine my topwater skills, as I wasn’t expecting to be using them this early, but here are B.C. w/a couple bass from the tail end of the bite.
