With all the different types of senkos out there now, does anybody perfer a particular brand or presentation? I’ve tried a half dozen different brands, and they all seem to have different characteristics. Personally, I like the 4″ Yamamoto. Any Thoughts????

I like the RC Tackle Senk-In worm. It has a great sink rate, like the Senko, but is more durable, so you don’t have to go through as many.

i vote for the original yanomoto, (if you can afford it) it usually lasts two to three fish for me.
after it’s really beat up, save em and rig it “wacky”
A friend of mine up here i nw wisconsin went through 500+ senkos last year.

    Cheaper the better.

The Yamamoto originals fall apart in water – they’re only good for one fish… The BPS and off-brand ones last about 10x as long – Gary and Roland aren’t getting my money.

As far as presentation – it varies based upon the environment & conditions. I’ve had great luck pitching them in stumps/trees as well as working them like a regular worm – preference on carolina rig.

Can I get those team Supreme worms at any particular bait shop in the LaCrosse area? I’ll be up there all next week.

    Thanks for any info.

You can get them at Bob’s Bait & Tackle down from the Clinton Street ramp. You can also get the Sink-N’s from RC Tackle there as well .

    Thanks ,

What’s everyone’s favorite way to fish a Senko style bait? There are lots of different ways, Texas Rig(weightless & weighted), Wacky, Dropshot, on lead head, etc….

    Let’s hear from you.

Just rig a 3/0 hook in one and cast it out. Let the bait do the work and pick it up every so often. I would say I fish it like live bait.

Unweighted Texas Rigged if it is calm, wacky 2nd. Tough to fish with a wind though.

I’ve found that in shallow, muddy, or stained river water that the Senko’s and imitations all work about the same. In fact, some of the knock-offs may even work a little better because they are lighter and sink slower. As the water gets deeper and gin-clear, then nothing beats the original Senko.
