Well, finally had a chance to make it out for the first time today- a bent prop shaft, work, and a poorly timed vacation have kept me off the water until now. Despite the brutal winds and cold, still managed some nice fish. Started on the South end of 4 and found smallies at the tail (read slack water) ends of stretches of rip rap in 4-6 ft of water. Had 8 keeper smallies (2-3.5 lbs) in about an hour. Every fish but one came on a purple shad suspending Rogue. Tried a few channel spots on the way back North but the wind made them almost unfishable. Found some LM in a shallow bay on the WI side but all were 10-12 inches. These fish all came on a black neon flipping tube and chartreuse/ white spinnerbait. One more decent smallie off some rock on the way in and that concluded the day. All in all, considering the weather, it was an awesome day! Plus, everything on my boat worked
Good luck to all the KFAN anglers,
Steve
