How high’s the water…

Mama? Three feet high and risin’.
The hives are floatin’, I’ve lost my bees, chickens are sleepin’ in the willow trees.

We can make it to the road in a homemade boat, it’s the only thing we got left that floats. It’s already over all the wheat and oats. 3 feet high and rising.

The Kickapoo river flooded in 78 when I was a kid. Living only a hundred feet off of it, the impact was huge. As a kid it was fun but I know it was not that way for Mom & Dad.

Anyway we would listen to the local radio station for updates and I swear they played that Johnny Cash song every 15 min. I just finished singing it .

Our high on Wednesday was 88 degrees, while the low over the past 24 hours has been 60 degrees. We received 2.84″ of rain over the past 24 hours (with 1.56″ of that falling on Wednesday and 1.28″ coming so far this morning).
