It was just to nice to work today so i took the day off an went fishing.It was close to noon by the time i got to the river.Started off fishing some deeper water with jigs an shad raps but nothing.I hit some secondary points an look for some sort of structure close to the drop off an still no luck so i moved i to swallow flats an tossed cranks.The only thing i got for my trouble there was decaying leaves I tied on alittle 3/16ounce brown an orange jig with a orange single tail grub an started pitching to wood Oh yeah! Bingo! Wood anywhere from 2-6 ft of water with mud bottom an the smallmouth smashed it.I got 6 sm from 2.3pds to 4.6pds. 4 of them was 3+ .I got 1 more smallmouth off a perch color shad rap an 1 LM on a blk an blu jig.Every fish i caught today came off the timber an mud combo.It was such a good day im gonna take tomorrow an fri off
