Went out last friday, I got out around noon. The weather was fine and at about one the wind picked up, the clouds moved in, and it started getting COLD. I started down at Goose and worked me way up the river stopping at some spots that looked good. Eventually I ended up on the black river fishing bays out of the wind and some nice rip rap. Over the course of four hours I cuaght 13 bass. Most of them were legal, a few were tiny, and 2 were at least over 3. The two biggest were smallmouth and got stuck with a blue and black 1/4 oz tube off rip rap. The other fish were all caught on either a silver and black husky jerk, or a craw crank bait. The bite was slow but I blame it on the cold front. The weather is looking amazing for this weekend. I’m looking forward to getting back into laCrosse for another try. For anyone familiar with Pool 8, I was catching most of my fish out on the main channel around seventh street boat landing. And another thing. When you catch one. Stick in that spot for along time. I would catch one fish, and then fish the same spot for another half hour and about every ten minutes a fish would come out of the spot.
