River Smallies – Strategy

    Hello All,

    I am primarily a walleye fisherman but am starting to get into the smallmouth fishing on the Wisconsin/Mississippi River. Does anyone have any advise on how to catch these bronzebacks? Lures? Rock, sandbars, trees? Trolling? Pitching? What has worked for you?

    Any advise on how catching smallies in the past would be greatly appreciated.

    wing dams, and rip rap work well for smallies on the river.
