As luck would have it.. (or lack of ) I made it out Saturday to torrential winds making many of the areas I wanted to fish all but impossible. I managed to find a couple bays that has adequate windbreaks and managed a few fish. We were tossing cranks and jigs as usual and if we could keep out bait in the strike zone we would get but. The call for the day seemed to be a ¼ oz jig with a large chunk resulting is a slow fall. From there dragging it on the bottom all the way to the boat was the ticked. We caught most of our fish in about 5 feet of water while the boat sat in 6. That little edge was where these fish were holding up. All in all we caught 21 fish in about 6 hours. Not bad for the day. The biggest fish was a sturdy 4 maybe 4.5 lbs. He ate a hand dipped big ika. The only fish to take this offering. Hope you all can get out today or tomorrow. Looks like the weather pattern is typical for my dedicated fishing times… Snow and cold.
Have I mentioned that I am still a little grumpy?
    Good luck all.

Spent Saturday morning battling the wind as well. Pool ten had little if any back water becasue of the rising water. When I picked pool 10 over pool 9, that was my first mistake. Glad somebody caught fish.

Hey, JC, what was the water temp in your area?

I’ve been ill since last weekend, and this weekend I was still on the couch, watching fishing.

Mama comes home with the boat this Friday (I’m not allowed to fish that weekend -until she goes back to VA on Weds), so at least I get to see a boat in my garage again. Hey, maybe I could put the TV on the deck and watch the FLW as I lean back in the seat… That’s not fishing, right?

    Thanks,

    Too Funny.
Water temps were right at 41 in most places. A couple times I found 42 – 43 but the wind had everything mixed up.
I am sure the brown fish are ready to be caught. Mother nature just needs to allow me to get there.

Hey JC when aren’t you grumpy. Made it out on 7 on Sunday afternoon. Managed to catch only one of those toothy critters. Had water temps from 43 to 50. Hope it gets warm soon.
