Having read the post and I agree with many that a Floating or Suspended jerkbait works great this time of year. I have been out last Friday and Saturday and have already got 3 bass in the 3+ range and one that was just at 4. Now this is not such a big deal for some but for me it was pretty nice.
None of these were even close to beefing up yet. I am on a backwater lake that is shallow, 2-7′ and found many on the windblown shore in about 2-3′.
My question is…is this a common pattern or at least starting point for the river? Backwater is not hard to find but with the river on a rise what have many of you found to be effective?

ps. I have found the pike to be less aggressive than the bass. I love to catch both but would it not be the reverse this time of year?
pss. Not sure what the water temp was but guessing in the low 50’s.

I gotta write that I do like jerkbaits, Sink-N’s, DOA Shads, crank baits and tubes in the spring. 49 to 55 degrees is a fun time.

    Thanks ,
