Well, I found myself out on pool 9 this past Saturday with a kind 50 degree sunny morning. I headed to the usual spring spots looking to hook up with a couple fish and found them resistant to eat anything. I tried all the usual baits and only managed a couple 8 inchers. After leaving the first area I noticed the 20 mile and hour wind was not around 30 and creating quite a mess. I headed up to a spot and managed to catch a few within 50 yards from a gentleman ice fishing. The bite is slow but them little bugs will catch fish.
The best was between 3 – 4 lbs.

Carolina rig, crankin, spinner bait or tube. We tried about everything Sunday and could not get bit.

    Green,
I wanted to check on a couple smallie schools but with 40mph winds I was forced to stay tight to the banks. I have to go clear to the back of the backwaters to even hold my boat in the wind and I have a Maxxam 74lb Kota.
The brown ones are there and willing if I can just get to them. The water temps have not moved them yet.. -grin- I am sure you know what I mean. Good luck John, post photo’s when you get back.
