The bill passed the House and the Senate and just need Gov. Walker’s signature to become law It won’t take effect until the law gets published, but hopefully less than a month

and the law is for SPECIFIC tournys only.. its not a blanket law, from what I understand..

it should be.. culling should be allowed period.. bass, walleye.. as long as a fish is in a WORKING LIVE WELL. no stringers, no buckets.. no dead fish released into the lake..

I see. It should be passed most tournaments they check your livwells before they send you out fishing anyways. We have regionals coming up in August and that is what I was concerned about. But it sounds likewe will be fine. Thank you for help!

The culling bill will be signed on Friday May 27th at 9:00am at the Golden Mast on Okauchee Lake. Rep. Kleefisch asked to have as many tournament anglers there as possible. Wear your club shirts/tourney shirts. This will be a historic day for tournament anglers don’t miss it.

wow is that something.. since I was at the Eagles Club, when Jim Wrolstad, of Fishing Facts fame, and a former President of the Okauchee fishing club, first proposed the at the state meetings.. that must have been about 1973.

so now, full circle, at Okauchee lake, the rule finally starts, and I mean starts, to get put to rest.

the orignal reason was that guys were coming HERE to Genoa to fish for walleyes in the spring using chain stringers. and after catching some small walleyes and dragging them all day.. once they finally found some bigger ones.. the would ‘release” those dead fish from the stringer..

that was the orignal purpose of the no cull law.. to prevent dead fish from being released so that guys could upgrade..

Like I said. I was there in the front row , when Jim made this proposal.. and a year later it was law..
