Northerns and Largemouth, Wabasha

May have given up on the walleyes at the upper end of the lake for a while. Fished it three times and did manage a couple of 24″ eyes but only one per trip and not much else. Went to Wabasha today searching the backwaters for anything welling to play. Caught six northerns ten to twelve plus pounds along with several from three to seven plus. Also caught several bass from two to three pounds. Spinner baits and buzz baits with the northerns coming mostly on the spinner baits and bass on buzz baits. Didn’t take any pics or accurate measurements but they were nice mid thirtys fish. Lost four big fish didn’t get to see, one of which pulled like she might have been quite a bit bigger. Fun day for the FW and I.

Where did you put in? Was the landing in good condition?

    Thanks,

The public launch is still closed but just over the hill where the hiking trail is there is another launch that is also open to the public and usable.

Is there a usable dock at that launch? I might come down by myself this week and I don’t want to wade thru water to get to my boat.

    Hi,

Tried to launch last weekend at the single site next to main launch but could not float ProV from bunk. Would like to try again this weekend. I asked locals last weekend for additional spots and was informed there are none. Were is the over the hill next to bike trail landing and are boots required? Is this over the bridge and on the Wis side?
