Got out on my favorite East Metro Bass lake this morning. This is the first time I’ve been out there in three weeks and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’ve never seen the water this high; the dock is up on shore some where, and there’s really no place to leave your boat after you get it off the trailer. Bring a piece of rope to tie it to the bushes and wear hippers or high rubber boots to wade around in. And the Sheriff has posted a No Wake restriction until further notice, making the lake nice and calm and quiet this morning.
The unsettled weather and post spawn conditions have slowed the fishing down. I never found more than one or two fish at any on spot. It paid to keep on moving. Water temp was 74.8 and it was darned windy even at 4AM. The fish in the picture was the best one of the day, fell to a Dahlberg Diver in 8 feet of water next to a bed of coontail.
