I picked up a BPS graphite series rod 7’6” XH fast action tip today for 40$. Seems like a fairly sensitive rod. Planning a sturgeon trip this fall to the rainy. Anyone use these rods for that? Didn’t want to spend a fortune as this will be my first time

I personal prefer glass rods for cats n sturgeons esp when using C-hooks but have used graphite and I think it should do ok.

I also like a glass rod with a light tip for sturgeon and a reel with at least 20 lb of drag. I am not sure if that rod is a musky one but if it is a bass rod it will be too light.
