I’m considering adding a round baitcaster to my arsenal — looking forward to perhaps soaking suckers on quick strikes for muskie this fall so I’d like something I can out in free-spool with a clicker. I only have one other reel that’s suitable for long-line trolling walleye etc, so it’d be nice to cover that ground as well. Other possible uses would be cats or sturgeon on the croix.

Cabela’s has a good deal on the Daiwa Millionaire right now for $35, placing it in competition with an Okuma Magda or a KastKing Rover. I know these are pretty low on the totem pole, but does anybody have any experience or other advice to share?

Okuma Convector 30. With or without line counter. Tough, with a loud clicker. Probably have to order on line. Around $70.00

Just a warning, as I believe the only reel offered at that price is left handed. I picked one up to his week because I wanted a cheap left handed bait caster. I have yet to use it but looks ok for the price.

Thanks for the heads-up. I know all 3 are made L/R but that sale price does appear to be only for the L model.

TBH I’m more intrigued by the KastKing for 10 more.

    — thanks but that’s more than I’m looking to spend at the moment.

Amazon has them both with line counters …. right hand is a couple bucks cheeper as well. Great reel for the money.
