Anyone been out or heard anything about the ice around Polk County? Hoping to get out Sunday. Any help would be sweet!

A buddy fished Big Round last Saturday night and there was 3 – 5 inches. I fished on Sand Lake by Cumberland on Sunday and we had 4 inches of good ice. The rain and warm weather probably didn’t help this week, but I would bet it will be froze up good again by this weekend.
December 16, 2011 at 3:19 pm #1018280Last weekend I got out onto White Ash and Balsam and had 3-5 inches all over. I’m hoping that the rain didn’t take away too much ice and that the water on top freezes (even though it won’t be as good as clear new ice…)
December 19, 2011 at 5:48 am #1019004Fished Magnor, Poskin, and Lower Turtle today and had 3-5 inches everywhere.
Fishing was not good for us at all. Never fished any of these lakes in the winter, so we were just winging it basically, but tried to cover a lot of water. Poskin and Lower Turtle were loaded with extremely small perch and all we marked on magnor was one pike.
