Ball Club Lake

Needing some advice on crappie fishing Ball Club lake in Deer River, Mn. I have ice fished it a few times but have never open water fished it. I know the south end has more flats and the northern 2/3 has steep breaks around most of it. Any advice would be helpful.

Not too much chatter on here regarding Ball Club generally. Jeff Sundin fishes that lake some so you may find some info on Fish Rapper in the archives. He answers emails too if you were to send him one. That might get you started.

Have a relative on that lake, and they always go to a resort on the west side to get their information lol. Looks like there are two on the lake, I’m guessing it was the Hundred Acre Wood resort, but it wasn’t that name the last time I was there. Getting a boat in on the south end public access is difficult at best, super shallow landing. Try one of the resorts to launch your boat and see what information they have for you.

Hundred Acre Wood Resort used to be called Gus’ Place Resort. Have not fished that lake much, but have been staying there with my family forever for our annual duck opener trip!
