I have been looking at some different bait feeder reels and was wondering what people are using on their ice sticks. I have an Okuma Avenger ABF-20b and like it other than how big and heavy it is. Is there a smaller/lighter one out there with a good drag?
I have heard a rumor that Okuma will be making a smaller baitfeeder. Not sure when or if that will happen but if they can get it down to like a 500 size Shimano, ill switch all my reels over.

I hope that rumor is true. Like the reel just the size preventing me from changing out more than a specialty setup.

There are reasonable bait casters between 7 and 8 ounces that do everything a bait runner does.
I use the Avenger on my TUCR Deadstick. It is heavy for an ice rod but it sure is nice for deadsticking. I would love if they came out with a smaller one as well. They are nice reels.
I see they did come out with a new Avenger. But did not see anything about a bait runner option
