Backwards Texas Rig

Whose done this and how’d it work?

Like the Neko rig, this seems like a cool new presentation (new to me). I wonder what the hook up rate compared to a normal texas rig would be. I know there is no way to quantify that, but I am curious just the same.

I haven’t read it, but they seem to be using an extra heavy weight. I bet this would be good for flipping and punching through heavy floating cover. All the action would be on the lift as opposed to the drop like a normal Texas Rig.

My bass fishing is real limited but on one of the tackle making websites I visit on a regular basis some of the bass guys have mentioned this. I think its an interesting concept but not something I’d use. You’re in bass heaven so give it a try.

They work. Using braid and a longer rod helps.

I’m a bit behind the times. Just tried a Neko rig this weekend. I really like that presentation.

    Pug,

I use it for a few Mn and Wi smallie lakes. It’s a fun way to fish deeper water, different presentation, it also allows me to fish some unique plastics that would be hard to make work otherwise.
I love the action that is allowed using the Neko rig, as long as you don’t mind fishing slightly slower.

I use it in places where I would otherwise torture myself with a carolina rig #ballandchainghater
