So recently bought a frabill quick tip rod with a 101 inline reel on it, we’ll I put my spool of 110 yard 3lb test on it and it didn’t seem to fill the spool up much, what kinda line are you guys using for backing?

What do you have laying around unused? For backing I always try to keep it similar in diameter but other than that what ever will fill the portion of the spool that you are looking for and that you can tie a good joining knot. IMHO

Wrap electric tape or foam back tape on reel until you have built up to level you want. No need wasting time with line backing. Also if using braid it synches into tape preventing digging in or spinning on spoil that a line backing allows!

I have the same Frabill inline as well as a Clam spooler and Beam Pro 21, I’ve used 3M VetRap as a backing on all of them and works great. I also use this to attach reels to rod handles instead of bands or electrical tape.
