In general I agree with this.
I have little kids at home too, and so priorities shift. However, I have a long list of things I want to do and places I want to see. If I wait until retirement that may not happen. That is why I am always planning ahead, sometimes way ahead, with my buddies. If you don’t plan ahead, (especially with having a family) it won’t happen.
