Hey everyone, trying to plan a bachelor party for the end of April and was seeing if anyone had any ideas of what a group of guys could do outdoors at that time of year. Was thinking about a rainy river trip but that can be do unpredictable. Thanks!

Depends on the location and travel you’re looking for? I did mine end of April walleye fishing the MO River in South Dakota. Rented a couple camper cabins at a campground, a day of guided walleye fishing in a couple boats. Was a good time enjoyed by all!

End of April, walleye is closed on rainy river. There is always redwing. But water could be a tad high.

It’s a great time to fish suckers and channel cats in a lot of smaller rivers/streams across the state. Cheap, fun, easy, don’t need expert anglers or special gear.

Thanks for some ideas! We are in central Minnesota and would be willing to travel 4-5 hours. Sorry to not clarify, it would be a sturgeon trip if we did the Rainy. One of the groomsmen has a cabin in I Falls so that was our first thought.

Great tarpon fishing in Florida in late april. Bottom fishing can be good also. Flights are cheap.

I always thought an over night trip on one of the floats on the mississippi down by alma or lacrosse would be fun. Just don’t drink to much, and fall off.

Not raggin on the OP but every wedding nowadays the bachelor bachelorette parties are out of town, hell sometimes out of country! Whatever happened to hitting up local bars and clubs and calling it a night. Rant over

Keep it local and get the Vikings love boat part 2 going…..plenty of fish in Tonka, with fins and without!!

That’s what it’s all about. That last memory. You can fish the next day and laugh about that and remember it on every fishing trip after when your with those buddies

Strippers are nice bc it’s just entertainment, going and hitting in chicks in bars I believe is something else. But to each their own?

To the OP I apologize if I derailed. Have fun on your trip.

I have to kinda agree with Butthurt. Most people with getting married age friends get invited to these a few times a year. Its not easy for everyone with young kids and jobs to getaway for 3-4 days at a time, a few times a year. Only so many vacation days and not to forget these trips aren’t cheap. Easy for the person planning cause it obviously fits in their schedule and budget. That being said them fishing trips with all your friends are pretty fun.

I’m always looking for an excuse to leave and fish somewhere new. Usually it’s with the same small group. Everyone else is great at coming up with reasons not to go. The ones who claim they can’t afford it spend plenty on booze and cigarettes etc. Don’t be that guy.

I have a standing offer with the guys I fish with. I’m ready anytime to go anywhere in the world fishing. Its not always easy to make it happen but it’s possible. If it costs a lot I just work more or save for longer. You only live once make it happen.

My money doesn’t go to booze and cigarettes. But the 1 and 3 year old girls I have at home. As much as I love to fish just saying its just not as easy for everyone. Ive never looked at them as a reason to not go somewhere, but I do look at them as a reason to stay home.

Go get a charter on Superior, air bnb in Duluth. Plenty of bars on Canal park and the Toga if you’re so inclined.

Did a walleye trip on Erie for my brothers, got blown off the lake but was still a hoot.
