Well, I think we found a winner, winner chicken dinner. How many are collecting disability and not paying anything in?

Yet another thing that needs fixing.

I finally got a shipping invoice from the Winkelman auction.
    Maybe it’ll arrive next week.

You’re going to get a survey from K-Bid, the auction service. You can roast them there.

It appears that K-Bid uses subcontracted auction houses. Like me, it may have been that sub’s first time using the K-Bid platform. I think I’ve got 2 surveys from them so far, but I’ll wait till the whole transaction is over before I fill one out. I won’t roast them. But I can provide some data points they may find interesting and useful.

Aside from his dry humor, the thing I remember most about his show were the cooking segments. One of the lots that I won was the cookbooks (at less than $12). So those’ll be interesting to checkout. Some of them may have a very interesting history. If one of them is connected to the show, maybe I can get him to sign it. These early outdoor TV shows are part of our heritage.

I remember watching that exact episode when I was a kid – THIS is why I watched fishing shows! (and used to tape fishing shows on the old VCR and watch ’em over and over) Made my imagination run wild!

    The auction items arrived today.
The cookbooks are interesting, a lot of them are about Dutch ovens.

I looked them up and they retail for $12,000 for 8 of them, $1500 each. The poker table and those chairs were made by the same high end company and I am sure the winning bid for around $1800 was probably a pretty fair price too. He must have had a fair amount of money at one time to drop cash like that on stools, chairs, and a poker table.

Any idea why the 8 bar stools sold for so much?

    Current bid was $3076?

    Thanks.

$1500 a piece for bar stools.

    That’s insane!
