Being a life long lowrance user here Anyone on here that uses autochart live i could use a little insight

Thinking about switching to the helix 9 for the autochart live feature and maping the no name areas i fish…question is

if i record on the unit and put the card in i get the unit automatically drops the info from the unit onto the card..so if i go back to the same lake and record a diff area without a card in amd repeat the process will that info all go together amd show up as 1 map or will i have different files on the card and not be able to see both recordings at once?
    Next question
If i get a helix 5 for the bow can i take a zero lines card and insert it into the 5 and view my map? Thinking along the lines of being able to use the 5 during ice season w my zero lines card that i mapped from the helix 9?

Feel free to reply or send me a message any info is appreciated

Not entirely sure on the networking and mapping between the two units, but the new 2nd version of these devices that just came out this last week to stores, all the way down to the 5 can now do the auto chart.

I see that after further reasearch but i see the g2 versions also only have a micro sd slot the helix 7 g2n has a regular sd slot so im not quite sure how that works if i need the software or not to convert them onto a micro sd card or if they are comming out with a micro sd zero line card

I should be able to help you here… I think…

Last year I sold the Lowrance farm and went to a Helix 9 (Gen 1 full updated) ,AutoChart Live and Lakemaster card. I spent hours last summer making maps of my northern MN lakes that had nothing but my old waypoints. I fell in LOVE!!! I then though how do I get on the ice with this data… Yep same thing as you. I am in the process of getting a Helix 7 ICE (Gen 2). I went to Warners Dock in New Richmand, WI and hooked up with Marcus. He showed me that I could move my Autochart Card from unit to unit and read all the previously charted data.
The Autchart card is just a micro sd reader so to move it to the 7 you just pull the micro out.

    Hope this helps!

I have a Bird 999 so, I know that with this unit I will have to record, then download to a computer that will then format it onto an SD card which I then insert into the 999 and see the mapping data a recorded previously. With this setup, how are the maps? Of course it’s very putzy, but I already have the 999 and computer and can get the AutoChart dirt cheap.

Auto chart live now also will map out weed edges and bottom hardness. Then will let you tell your i-Pilot link to follow the rock to sand transitions it has mapped!

The helix 7 g2 does not do weeds or bottom hardness, I talked to humminbird about it, some retailers had that the g2 did bottom hardness maps and was told that they can’t control what retailers put up for description, kind of used car salesman tacticts if you ask me I was looking forward to the bottom hardness mapping.
