My Jiffy Article blast kinda let me down, she ran perfect Tue, but today it would bog down when cutting at full throttle, this is my 3rd tank of gas this year, I dumped the gas added seafoam, which I swear buy, changed the plug, ran it for awhile then tried to drill another hole and it would bog down when cutting at full throttle but at 3/4 it would cut,it started last ke normal and could run it at full throttle without touching the ice, sounded normal, any advice would be greatly appreciated !!!

It’s warmer out right now, so the carb is probably running slightly too rich for the air temp.

If you don’t want to have to feather the throttle when it’s warmer you’ll have to adjust the carb settings to the weather.

Otherwise if you prefer it to run and start efficiently in the cold, leave it, and feather the throttle during the warmer weather. Which is what I would prefer to do.

Sounds like with my Jiffy did 12 or so years ago. I spoke with Jiffy after taking mine to a shop a number of times without any luck. The said I needed to adjust the jet on the carb while the auger was cutting ice.

That did work… for a while but pretty much every other outing I needed two people to make the adjustment. Got to the point where I would ask others to bring there auger along and I left mine at home.

I hope you have better luck than I.

I had the same issue a few years ago with mine. It turned out to be a crack in the fuel line inside the gas tank where you can’t see it. Because of the crack, it wasn’t holding the pressure it needed to get the gas to the carb.

Try replacing each of the fuel lines from the carb. Definitely worth a shot!

I had a similar issue with mine some years ago. After a couple trips to a small engine repair place didn’t fix the problem I sold it to a friend. I told him about the issue but he wanted it anyway = yay me. I bought a Lazer Mag next which ran great. Now I use a Nils hand auger. That think always starts. LOL

Love my Niles hand auger too. Its light, cuts fast and easy, and as you said, it always starts even in the cold.

You might try rebuilding the carbon and replacing the fuel line. That’s what I had to do. Similar issue you had. Do you have any fuel leaking anywher?

Had the same problem with my Model 76. Turned out to be a little plastic elbow in the fuel line. Called D Rock and had a new shipped. Part 1.76 plus 6 or 7 bucks to ship. Emailed them a pic while talking to them and they knew the exact part. I would recommend these guys for all your small engine needs.

+1 on D rock. bring it in and let them go over it good. It is cheap and like getting a new auger.
