I recently installed a monster box on my ATV. Looking for a good way to carry the auger now (8″ Strikemaster Solo Chipper).
I’m looking at either the Otter/Rhino auger tube shield that mounts to the side of the cargo box or putting a digger mount on the front rack of the ATV. Anyone using these options that could share pro’s and con’s?

Digger. IMO, holds the auger much more securely and there’s less of a chance of it bouncing around in the tube. I know some guys strap them down in the tube, but I much prefer the Digger. Besides, it frees up room for the rod case and bucket holder this way waytogo

Haven’t used the tube shield but I do have the Digger and love it.

I owned both. The auger is more secure on the digger mount. I found that the otter tube flexed when on rough terrain and seemed to bounce a bit. I sold it which freed up space on the monster box for the otter rod holder on one side and bucket holder on the other.
