auger mount/ otter box

I am wondering if anyone has ever mounted an auger mount to the top of their small Otter ATV box lid on the front of their ATV? Also, does anybody know of a store that sells the small Otter ATV boxes and has them on the shelf, so I can inspect one before I buy one and do this Is the lid strong enough to where I could do this and not break the lid with the potential torque from wobbling around a little. I would put a larger plate on the bottom side of the lid. I have a Otter rod case and I am thinking that if the small otter box is made from the same material and the same thickness it may be a little iffy. I have not been able to find a smaller Otter ATV box in any stores to get a hands on inspection of one before I buy one.
