    I have a really bad jiffy ice auger that worked fine last year i go in sharpen the blades head out and it doesnt cut through the ice

    Auger blades are very temperamental. I would only have them professionally sharpened, also make sure you don’t install them upside down. Last resort is get a second pair new in package.

    Make sure you put the nut/bolt facing the right direction. I made the mistake of putting the nut side down when I put new blade on my jiffy model 30. The bolt stuck down just barely far enough that it touched the ice before the blade did. Reversed it and cut great! Good luck

    I’ve also tried to sharpen blades on my jiffy in the past..I had them so messed up that it just sat there and spun on top of the ice. There is definitely an art to it. Just buy new.

    If the chisel point on the flight is bad it will not matter how sharp your blades are. Take a file to the chisel point and then try it, you might be surprised.
