I believe that there are different size’s of ‘Universal’ chains. (Someone correct me if I am wrong) Tire chains have a lot of adjustment built in. Certain chain sizes that fit a wide range of different tire sizes. Just be sure your tire size falls in the range.

Yep there are several sizes just like tire sizes. Call the place you plan to get your chains and they should be able to help you. If they are not able to help you call Rocky Mountain ATV, I got some V bar chains that I like a lot. I called them and told the gal what size my tires were and she got what I needed ordered. Perfect fit at a great price.

If tire chains do not fit well or the wrong size they will wear out extremley fast or cut your tires to shreds in short order. Make sure to get a good fitting set and they will be around for a long time. Not to mention with a poor fit they may roll off to the inside or become “half hitched” and good by fenders, brake lines, ankles etc etc.

My 600 took 12×25 if I recall correctly. Got my set at Fleet Farm along with a chain tightner kit for $40.xx Couldn’t be happier. Let some air out, put on, slightly snug. Fill tires back up. Run up and down the road a few times, starting slow in case something lets loose. Be sure to tie of any excess you have to prevent getting caught on something.

I didn’t let the air out the first time. Couldn’t get them tight.

I love the traction they give me. Pulled a trailer out of the snow bank the other day, never would have gotten there without the chains.
