Rode for a bit Sat and Sunday. Trails were suprisingly good. They have been running groomers around Spooner and that slushy snow set up good. It could be the beginning of a great season if we dont get a major thaw and continue to get maintenance snow. I also noticed they groomed the Star trail in Woodbury. Looked flat as a pancake but I dont ride around here anymore.

Trails were great in Danbury! We rode Friday and Saturday, and saw only a couple of sleds each day. This heavy snow should give the trails a great base, which is something we don’t see very often this early in the season.

Be VERY careful guys when crossing any swamps up in the area, as some are not frozen yet. Last week, the trail groomer took a little swim in a swamp in Siren, and they ended up having to total out the vehicle. Glad I wasn’t the insurance guy on that one.

I’m sure Barron County will have their trails open Sunday night (last night) and closed again by Wed. night. Gotta keep the locals happy.

Funny thing the trails were actually NOT open in Washburn Cty even though they were almost perfect. They had not officially opened because surrounding areas wanted to wait for the lakes to firm up.
All I know is the Wild River trail was open and local bar owners gave the wink wink on inland trails. To be honest I wasnt waiting anyways. All the gates were open and the groomers were running. Bad timing is all. Trails were better than they were at the end of last season. Made no sense at all not to ride them.
