New Sled

I’m going to keep the ol’ ZR700 that’s set up for ice fishing but I’m thinking about a new “riding” sled for this winter.

I’ve in the past owned pretty much every brand so I’m not brand loyal and don’t want this to turn into a Cat/Doo/Yam/Pol debate.

I’m in the market for a used 08 or 09 in the 600 to 800 cc range. I have no plans to go out west. It will be for MN, WI and MI riding. Not trail riding but ditch and woods, I hate the drone of endless railroad bed riding. I tend to push my stuff to the ragged edge so I want something that will stand up to punishment. Doesn’t have to be the fastest or best suspention or most torque, just bullet proof to a good beating once in a while.

    Thanks, Adam

Ski Doo in the Renegade platform with an 800 in it. Very comfortable sled.

That or an Arctic Cat Crossfire in the 800.

I like them both. The Renegade corners the trails the best. It’s like riding on rails with those things. However I’ve heard the renegades are in getting the nuns replaced a lot if you tend to find rocks or stumps while riding.

The Crossfire’s don’t seem to have those problems but they are just a hair less ergonomically comfortable and don’t corner as nicely. So it really depends on trail riding characteristics (if you ask me).

Both are awesome ditch banging sleds.

With that being said. Next year (maybe this year) I’ll be picking up a pair of Ski Doo 2007 Renegades 800 H.O. for the fiance and I. We trail ride a lot though, so I’m looking for a sled that has great trail qualities as well as powder qualities.

Those etec 600’s get a lot of press. My buddy got one last year and cant say enough about it. He had a Pol 800 before.
